For three of the following topics, choose three, and for each one identify two possible visual aids you could use: camping, softball, Vietnam War, History of the Automobile, Comfort Food, Exercise, Clothing Styles, The Eighties, The Nineties, The Fifties, The Sixties, The Seventies, Scary Movies, Fishing, Cosmetic Surgery, Career Choices in Medicine, Stress Relievers, Childhood Board Games, Dealing with Grief, Bargain Shopping, Pets, Driving Laws, Child Abuse, Gardening, Skateboarding, History of Telephone, The Grand Canyon, Knitting, The Milky Way, The Berlin Wall, Hurricane Katrina, Cleveland, Survivor's Guilt, Bipolar Disorder, Amnesia, Ballroom Dancing, Rocks.

  1. Vietnam War:
    1. Map of Vietnam displaying various battle sites and key locations.
    2. Graph plotting # of U.S. casualties during specified year vs. # of U.S. troops commissioned that year. Separate graphs for Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines. Another graph would display the percentage of commissioned U.S. troops who were KIA, MIA, or injured for each year of the war.

    Career Choices in Medicine:
    1. Pie chart displaying percentages of the different specialists in surgery: neuro, cardiac, orthopedic, general, ER, etc.
    2. Table displaying different health care careers (surgeon, general practitioner, nurse, lab technician, etc.) and the education and qualifications required.

    Stress Relievers
    1. Poster displaying different tools for the physical stress relief outlet and how to use them i.e. baseball bat, chainsaw, homemade flamethrower, etc.
    2. Poster displaying different objects you can project your physical stress relief onto i.e. empty soda cans, furniture, the source of your stress, little furry animals, etc.

    1. A sweater you have knit.
    2. A chart of the demographics of the people who knit in modern society.
    Rocks:
    1. An actual, live, real-life rock.
    2. A chart depicting the types of rocks that exist in modern society.
    Comfort Food:
    1. A slice of cheesecake (Too distracting?)
    2. A chart depicting the types of comfort foods that exist in modern society.

  4. 1. Bargain Shopping
    - Video clip of a bartering transaction (bartering is a form of bargain shopping, yet not the only way to bargain shop)
    - Poster displaying bargain-type stores and comparing a few examples of their prices compared to retail stores

    2. Camping
    - Plastic Knife to signify the only real necessity required in order to camp, according to our dear Sir Dorian (I'd bring in a PLASTIC Knife for obvious reasons)
    - A Poster displaying pictures on how to set up a tent (for those campers who are less daring and like to indulge their luxuries ;) )

    3. The Seventies
    - A Pie chart of the number of hippies developed during the Seventies
    - An Audio clip/picture of Jimi Hendrix playing Voodoo Child

    Ps. There had to have been a lot more that you could think of that happened in the Seventies apart from Richard Nixon. :)
